All Women Hate Each Other

Posted on March 2nd, 2007 by Ed Lau

So I was watching America’s Next Top Model the other day, thinking it couldn’t possibly be bad. I mean, I could stand to learn a thing or two about fashion photography and…heck, it has hot girls all over it so there’s no way it could be anything but awesome. However, you also learn a thing or two about women…namely that all women hate each other. You discover how true this is within minutes of watching this show.

It was rather amazing since these women barely know each other, having only met earlier in the day and already they have such hate for each other. It’s pretty funny and it probably doesn’t help that they’re all pretty hot since I’m sure that they’re all intimidated by each other. I’m almost sure that’s why women watch this show, to watch all the girls bitch at and about each other while us guys just want to oogle the pretty ladies.

I couldn’t help but think how incredibly boring this show would be if it was about men and not only because I have absolutely no interest in dudes. It’s a fact that men just don’t take things this seriously. We’re not powered by drama. Seriously, some girls just seem to crave the drama. I mean, we’re rather indifferent to, well, everything and and generally just don’t care about the crap that all these chicks argue about. Heck, all men generally get along fine or we’re at least cordial. For example, one girl was afraid that all the other girls wouldn’t like her after she won a competition since they would perceive her as…heck, I can’t even get through all that, it’s so ridiculous. Another was saying that another girl wasn’t taking modeling as seriously as she is and that pissed her off. Why would you get mad about stuff like this? Why would you care what these other girls do when it doesn’t affect you? It boggles the mind!

It’s mainly because women think too much. Too much about all other women and too much about what everyone else thinks. It’s not just the models. All men know that the women in their lives are just waiting for a chance to slash each other’s throats and all women are preparing every day for a final showdown in an absolutely meaningless war. Men, we simply can’t be bothered to have such emotional battles.

But I digress. Anyways, I can’t get enough of Sarah. She’s a photographer and cute as hell. She’s not the hottest girl left in the competition but I think it was Carl from k-rad.hk that once said “This is America’s Next Top Model…not the Hottest Girl in America.”

While the cat fights are fun to watch, I just can’t get turned on by walking coat racks. I’d break them in two, or at least bust a spleen or something. I like my woman with some healthy meat on them bones.
They should have a model show where the winner gets a cover spread on Maxim or FHM. Now that’s a show I’d watch!

Ah, busting out a Carl quote that is at least 2 years old.. nice!

I think the tattooed girl should have made it, but she must have been pretty bad at everything else not to make it through. Then again, perhaps Cover Girl is looking for someone who is the exact opposite of her; their market is girls who want to conform, not the opposite. And let’s not kid ourselves by saying the winner ends up in high end fashion… Really, it’s all about the Cover Girl contract.

I am also disappointed that Kathleen left. She was cute as hell! Unfortunately, a terrible model to start with, and they felt that they would never get through to her.

That mixed black/white girl is SO fucking UGLY and her VOICE oh my GOD I WANT TO STAB MYSELF IN THE EARDRUMS WHEN SHE TALKS! As ditzy as Kathleen came across, this girl just sounds like a fucken retard.

I agree with you on pretty much everything, this show is great. The photography is usually very cool (though sometimes way too tacky) and how can you not want to watch skinny babes prance around in their underwear for 1 hour? :D

And you’re right, girls HATE each other (see some of the reactions on the faces of the girls when Antonella survived another week). Some of the drama is so absurd, you’d think it was all just an act. But nope, girls are just this irrational and emotional in general.

I liked Kathleen too. Her voice was so cute but she was definetly not one of the better models.

The tattoo girl was annoying too. She’s too “I’m DIFFERENT so I should make it!”.

Wow, this is the first time I have witnessed a bunch of guys talking about America’s Next Top Model. I need to go punch myself or do something manly. I wish I had chest hair to pull out.

What’s more manly than watching hot chicks walk around and pose in their underwear? I don’t suppose you think the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is girly too?

There seems to be a real gender image issue with your blog, Ed. Don’t get me wrong, the posts are great, but you always post stuff about being “manly” such as “How to shop like a dude” etc. We know you’re a dude, dude! ;)

As for talking about ANTM, Leo does have a point, I don’t know many guys that chat up a storm about ANTM. The show is good for cat fights though. Leo, go punch yourself already, LOL! :)

Ironic, no? I mean, I can talk about being manly and yet, I can still watch America’s Next Top Model, discuss the importance of sartorial style or how pink is the new black?

Pink? You obviously mean “Dusty Salmon” or “Arizona Sunrise”?

In India, Bollywood actresses are considered models at the same time.

This year seems pretty boring. At least they kept a couple ugly drama queens in there to help keep the show interesting.
