Can’t Sleep, Clown Will Eat Me
April 19th, 2007 by Ed Lau |Apparently being awake for 20 hours is pretty close to being near the blood alcohol level of 0.08, which is, if you were to drive, damn near illegal. I wonder what the drunk equivalent is for when you’ve been up for close to double that time because that’s pretty close to what I’ve done. Yep, I’ve spent almost the last two days awake and studying for an exam I took an hour ago. The view you see below is what I’ve been starring at for a long time at a local coffee shop. As you can see, I’m not as eloquent as I usually am. In fact, this simple paragraph has taken me close to 30 minutes to compose. This isn’t the longest I’ve stayed up but it’s probably the longest I’ve stayed up doing something that isn’t fun. I think I really need to get my ass to bed.

I’ll put out a real post…probably about studying and university…later on today or tomorrow. I got to wake up before 7 for the Canucks game. Playoff hockey takes precedent over…well, just about everything.

I can’t remember the longest consecutive hours I’ve been w/o sleep but I do remember for orientation weekend for uni, I had 4 total hours of sleep in three day. I felt like I was gonna die.
Nice Simpsons reference
At least you’re still functional
I’ve got two projects due tomorrow afternoon. I had to stop working on them to watch the Red Wings…..
Now back to work. Good luck to your Canucks. Keep it up w/ the Exams, the semester’s gotta be just about over. Ours is over after next week.
So how did you do on the exam? I found last semester that staying up for an extended period of time just to study actually made me do pretty bad on the exam
Not sure. I’m not really concerned about it but I wanted to give it the best go I could in the amount of time I had.
So I’m obviously experiencing sleep deprivation right now, given that I’m doing my round of returning comments at 2:05 AM, LOL.
[...] can. Coffee is a bit better but lately, I’ve nearly cut that as well. Even though I sometimes pull all-nighters when writing papers at a coffee shop, I usually don’t drink much coffee. I usually get the matcha drinks instead. [...]
