According the UK Mirror earlier this week, Top Gear frontman Jeremy Clarkson was injured in a head-on crash during the taping of a segment for the show. He suffered some minor injuries but that shouldn’t delay the start of Top Gear’s new fall season, which starts on November 2nd. Great news for Top Gear addicts like myself.
Critics of the show and crazy fanatics have been quick to liken Clarkson’s crash with the one that almost killed Richard Hammond in 2006. However, there really isn’t much in common between the two. Fact of the matter is any time you have a show about cars, you’re obviously going to have the risk of accidents. What I’m afraid of is that the BBC is going be stupid and tone down what’s great about the show.
Either way, we’ll find out soon when the season starts in a little more than two weeks.
Oh, and those of you reading from Russia will be happy to hear that you guys will be getting your own version of Top Gear. In Soviet Russia, Top Gear watches you! I don’t foresee it being a hit though as the American and Australian versions of Top Gear have been met with tepid success.

what i love about this show is the witty writing and dialogue. really good stuff. i think that’s what sets the original apart from even other car shows.
agreed – I’m not a car guy by any measure, but an hour of straight-on British wit, snips, and general bickering gets me every time
@slif:
indeed. let me add as well that the cinematography for this show is just gorgeous.
