Left 4 Dead
I really need to find more time in the day. This is one of those “perfect storm” times of the year when tons of quality games come out and there’s simply not enough time to play them all. I saw a video for Left 4 Dead the other day and was convinced that [...]

Every once in awhile, we like to leave our second home, Pho Lan, where we usually hold Dot Com Pho and try other digs. This is the second Dot Com Dim Sum we’ve done with the first back in March at Sea Harbour. This time, we decided to go to Kirin Seafood Restaurant instead. From the left are the evil John Chow, his wife Sarah, Erin Berringer (of Newport Business Media), Gary Jones, Rainer Schmoll, Greg Morgan, Wolfgang, Michael Kwan, fake Stephen Fung and myself in front of them. Unfortunately hidden by the Evil One’s giant head is Rainer’s son Matthew.
Kirin is one of the more elegant seafood restaurants in Richmond and a tad more expensive than usual. The service is usually excellent and even though we cleared out dishes within seconds of them arriving at the table, our table was usually promptly cleared although I would’ve preferred a plate change more often. Like any other dim sum place in Richmond, Kirin was packed but luckily we reserved a table for noon which was ready for us when we arrived. Unlike some other establishments around town, a reservation at Kirin actually means a reservation.
We feasted on several different types of dumplings (shrimp, beef, pork), rice rolls (shrimp, beef, scallop), buns, various chicken dishes (including two types of chicken feet) and some deliciously flaky egg custard tarts. The food wasn’t as interesting as some of the different dishes at Sea Harbour but still delicious. I apologize for the poor quality photos. I didn’t have my camera and Stephen was lazy.
Dot Com Dim Sum was once again sponsored by Gary and BlueFur Web Hosting. They host my blog and John Chow’s. Service and speed is always top notch and if you use the coupon code JohnChowRocks, you’ll get 15% off all the different packages.

Food looks good. I guess it’s not $2-$3 per dish like the other cheaper dim sum places in the GVRD, huh?
If you ever are in that area and feel like Thai food, DO NOT go to Royal Thai House just up the street from Kirin. Probably the worst place I’ve ever been for Thai.
ReplyFake Stephen Fung
Good enough to get the bedroom eyes from Female Taiwanese Superstars
My what great pictures!
ReplyIMHO the restaurant you guys went to last time is way better than Kirin. Kirin is way overpriced, and the quality isn’t that good.
ReplyHey, we didn’t pay. It was free
ReplyHey Ed,
Great site. I’m new around here…how’s it going? You’ll see me around more often
ReplyI think the Kirin in City Square is better than the Richmond one.
ReplyWell then! Free is good!
ReplyThat’s what I was wondering about: fake Stephen Fung
ReplyOh, because of the actor…
I am un-brain, have no the think today…
ReplyI think the Coquitlam one is pretty up there. Richmond people come to this one for some reason. You can tell by the way they park. Backing in, or crooked beyond belief.
