Dot Com Pho - Lemon Glass Edition

Posted on October 18th, 2008 by Ed Lau in Entertainment, Tech and the Net

We’re back again for another week of Dot Com Pho stupidity.

There was a big turnout with 5 people joining series regulars Stephen Fung, John Chow, Greg Morgan, Ray, Wolfgang and myself. Along for the ride this week are Heather, Crystal, Adarsh, Rory Hansen and Timothy Sykes (author of An American Hedge Fund).

Included in this week’s festivities are Connect Four, motorboating, stock tips, free wine and our criticism of the new Apple MacBooks. Oh, and the best turnout for Twitter Shoutout so far with a lot of people responding to my Tweet. If you want to get in on Twitter Shoutouts next week, then you’re going to want to follow Stephen’s Twitter.

    Haha…thanks for shout out. I knew my Last name would make it difficult. It is even difficult in Polish and people right there, make often mistakes in it.

    If you want to check how it should be (less or more) pronunciated, you can try this synthetizer http://www.ivosoftware.com/ Just type in Kacper Wrzesniewski and select Polish voice.

    Have a good day :)

    Good thing John only called it Lemon Glass and not “Lemon Party”. Otherwise, we’d have a very different crowd at this week’s event.

    Thanks Ed for including me into this week’s Dot Com Pho :) I almost forgot about the shoutout, but caught it just a few minutes before it was over :).

    Wow, do you make these videos each week? What software do you use to for your video editing?

    @Rory Hansen:

    We make videos every time we hold a Dot Com Pho, which is basically every Saturday. Ed uses iMovie, I believe, for video editing.

    Lunch was fun once again - I love the iced coffee!

    Thanks to Stephen for his motor boating skills :)

    See you next time.

    Ahh, I’ll have to find a simple Windows equivilant. I find that the similar PC software is a lot more complicated.

    @Rory Hansen:

    Yes, I use iMovie to produce all my videos. This is the first time, however, that I’ve put together the Dot Com Pho episode, though.

    And yes, iMovie is above and beyond anything I’ve ever used on the PC side in terms of simplicity. I think maybe Adobe Premier Elements is the closest you’ll find.

    @Rory Hansen:
    Cyberlink’s Power Producer seems to do a pretty good job on the PC side. It’s easy to use and it was the last PC suite I used to edit a video. I found the Adobe products to be far more complicated if you wanted to whip up something quick.
