Facebook in Real Life
May 2nd, 2008 by Ed Lau |You never realize how absolutely lame something is on the internet is until some jackasses make a video about what it would be like in real life. I seriously still don’t get the point of Facebook even though I’m on it. I know people that are on that damned site for hours each day. It’s a fantastic tool for promoting a blog and probably for any companies that want to sell us things (since we’ve all inputted all our data so they can search key demographics) but otherwise…um…the whole concept seems pretty lame, especially since you get a ton of friend requests from people you don’t know and your inbox is filled with requests for useless applications.

I thought the video would be unfunny but was pleasantly surprised. Thanks for that!
I’m still not going to give up Facebook just yet as it will invaluable to keep in touch with friends over the next few years.

If that happened in real life, I’d have to end that guy. I guess FB really is that annoying sometimes if you think about it.
This from the guy who gets Twitter updates on his cell phone.
My thoughts exactly. I can see the value in Facebook and Twitter, but I can’t be bothered with online things when I’m trying to offline.
Twitter has…
-No stupid Poke
-No stupid SuperWall
-No stupid invasive questions about how you know said individual before adding
Clearly not nearly as annoying. OTOH, I had to turn Bob off. He was being boring.
BTW, I posted a funny vid about the social networking phenomenon on my blog a while ago: http://www.leochiang.com/hump-day-video-july-11th-2007/
that’s lame, old friends you don’t talk to, you don’t do so for a reason. FB is just pure annoying and that’s why I haven’t used it in like a good year or so.

You Bet. I totally agree with you Ed Lau, how on earth can people spend hours and hours on that site. I think it’s a waste of time.
Lol, that is a great look at what FB is like. Awhile back I gave in and signed up for it, used it for a few days and haven’t logged in much since then - only to add a few friends met through social networking.
