The Price Is Right was something I watched growing up, usually after school with my grandma. Honestly, I don’t know a world without Bob Barker and his old school microphone. It’s going to be new territory for folks under the age of 35. Bob’s last episode aired yesterday.

Congratulations on 35 years of hosting The Price Is Right. Whether giving away A NEW CAR, telling us to have our pets neutered or kicking Adam Sandler’s ass…you’re the man, Bob. No one will ever be able to take your place.

I watched The Price is Right in my diapers…my grandpa was the biggest fan, even though did not understand what the heck they were saying.

I watched the final episode last night. That frikken chick practically won 2 Vettes, and that one guy with the Elijah Wood smirk on his face got slammed at every turn. Just when it looked like he was gonna have a stroke of luck, he got shafted. Glad they brought Plinko in. I turned it on after the 1st contestant had already won. Anyone know if they used the mountain climber game on her?

I too grew up watching Bob. My grandma was a big fan too, even though she had no idea what was really going on. Because she couldn’t speak English, she simply called the show “100″ in Chinese… because of the wheel.

My childhood makes me what I am today. I watched Price is Right (teaching me greed, smart shopping, and materialism) and WWF (teaching me that violence is the only way to solve a problem). My favorite cartoons were also relatively violent ones (TMNT, X-Men, etc.). I speak with a certain level of sarcasm, of course, but it just goes to show you that TV (and video games) don’t necessarily breed bad citizens.

i watched it with my grandma too. my brother was a bigger fan though. unfortunately for him, he just started a new job as a legal consultant and had tickets to the last show, which he painfully had to miss.

The Price Is Right was just “one of those shows”… a timeless classic that everyone I know grew up on. When I would stay home from school being sick or sometimes faking it, I would always watch this show.

Here more recently however I found that I simply couldn’t watch the show. Not because anything had really changed; it was still a great show. But, the contestants… wow where do these people come from? The sheer stupidity of 80% of the contestants just drove me crazy!

I caught the last bit of the finale show last night and yeah, that one lady really racked in the cars! She will be riding clean for a long time!

Bob Barker thinks Rosie O’Donnell would be a great host for the Price is Right?!
Good thing he’s retiring because he’s out of his mind!

Never liked the show, always found it cheesy.
The only good thing was watching the busty girls jump up and down.

[...] That brilliant boob tube served as probably my best babysitter growing up, entertaining me with a spinning wheel and someone who called himself the Ultimate Warrior. I couldn’t get enough of The Simpsons [...]
