Follow Me On Instagram

by Ed Lau on November 15, 2012

Right, so I’m on Instagram now. Actually, I’ve been for awhile but didn’t really use the service til now since I didn’t think it was really necessary since I’m on so many different photography-related social media sites already. However, it’s a really fun way to share pictures, especially from a camera phone.

Actually, the primary reason I got myself on Instagram is to try out posting pictures from my 5D3 on the go. It sounds sort of complicated but it really isn’t. Basically JPEG copies of pictures taken by my 5D are sent wirelessly to my iPad (the RAW file stays in the camera), where I can edit and post to Instagram. Results? High resolution photos treated with Instagram’s ridiculous filters. Tried it out for the first time this past week at a media event for Ocean Wise and the Vancouver Aquarium.

It’s a cool experiment and a fun way to post everyday camera phone photos from my daily routines so if you’re on Instagram, follow me and let me know so I can check out your photos as well!

I finally signed up for Instagram too..though I haven’t used it yet. Thought. I would just sit and see what I do with it though.

How are you sending your files to the iPad? Does the 5DMKIII have wireless built in or do you have the wireless grip?

Very jealous as well…I’m a huge fan of sushi but most of the places here in the Midwest aren’t serving the freshest of fish. Toro is one of my favorites so I can only imagine how good the variety was that you had there.

How are you delivering your information to the iPad? Does the 5DMKIII have wi-fi designed in or do you have the wi-fi grip?

I think it’s kinda fun to use Instagram in taking a picture of the places you go to, the things you eat, and even some other candid moments that cannot be captured anywhere else. That is, if you are willing to share what’s happening with your life.

I lastly finalized up for Instagram too..though I have not used it yet. Believed. I would just sit and see what I do with it though. Toro is one of my most favorite so I can only think about how excellent the wide range was that you had there.

That sounds like a nice expansion of options on Instagram, I have not signed up yet because I am not nearly as advanced in photography as you, though your enthusiasm brings inspiration.

I too finally signed up for Instagram. The thing which you have mentioned about moving a picture to ipad and editing to Instagram is a new information which I have not heard before.

I think it’s kind of fun to use Instagram in getting a photo of the locations you go to, the factors you eat, and even some other genuine minutes that cannot be taken anywhere else. That is, if you are willing to discuss what exactly is occurring with your lifestyle.

I’ve just joined Instagram (a little late, buy hey!) and will have a look at it. Lots of friends use it, but while the photos look good initially I’m not sure about whether I’ll want to keep using it. We’ll see! :o )

Probably not very surprisingly, it did not take long after Instagram became more popular that there already is a course on how to use Instagram in the best way to generate profits.

Done and followed. I actually really like instagram and how it documents where the pictures are taken. All the different filters and options it makes any amateur photographer look good.

it has been hard for me to see the point on instagram. I have only been using it on close friends and families sharing some family photos. I will take a look at your instagram and see if i can add you.

As you say that even photos taken with a cell phone camera can be OK for Instagram, this system is something for me to add, as I have photographed many outdoor nature scenes with my cell phone camera.
