Free iPhone?! Sign Me Up!
July 9th, 2007 by Ed Lau |Ever since the launch of the Apple iPhone, the world has gone crazy. People have been selling them for up to five or six times the retail price on eBay and folks are lining up for miles outside Apple retail stores. One particularly stupid lady tried to buy $100,000 worth of iPhones so she can sell them on eBay. She even paid $800 for the first spot in line but apparently wasn’t smart enough to read the rules which state each customer can only buy one iPhone each. Sucks to be you, lady. Leave the reselling to people like me. ![]()
Personally, I decided not to get an iPhone after looking further at the features, most of which don’t work in Canada due to our outrageous prices on data plans. Apparently we pay the most out of any developed country for mobile data. However, internet marketing guru Gary Lee is giving away a free iPhone…and hey, all bets are off when things are free.
Gary was one of the first bloggers I met outside of the Dot Com Pho circle and he’s always been kind enough to include me in all his various blog building schemes including the Technorati Link Train. When he’s not being crazy for thinking Los Angeles has better Chinese food than Vancouver, Gary enjoys being an Apple whore and golfing. In fact, he started a new golf equipment site called BunkerParadise.com.
I hope that iPhone is mine as I’ve yet to win anything from any sort of blog giveaway. Admittedly I don’t enter too many of them either but it would be nice to get some free stuff. Yesterday, Ms. Danielle (who also runs the free online coupon site PinkDeals.net) announced that I was again shut out from winning the Microsoft Zune (which really gets around…).
Since blog contests seem to be all the rage these days, I think I’ll hold one of my own soon. I have a pretty good idea of what I’m going to give away but still haven’t worked out the details as to how I should run the contest. Stay tuned…I should announce it by the end of the month.

I love that video. I’m sure it will go down in history as a timeless representation of how stupid some people at the country club are
Is it normal for people to ask for so many links in a single contest? I don’t see how you could possibly link to this contest without it looking like obvious linkbait…
hahaha!! i never saw this footage. awesome. yes it does suck to be her!
