Ouch, it seems that one of the biggest gadget blogs on the planet has been banned from the biggest gadget show on the planet. Why? Because they couldn’t resist #%*&ing with the TVs.
Dubbed “Gizmodogate”, some staffers (or staffer) from Gizmodo went around to several booths and turned off their LCD displays with a high-powered IR device. Of course, this wreaked havoc on several demonstrations, most notably Motorola and a Fatal1ty match. This resulted in Gizmodo being banned from the Consumer Electronics Show. Honestly, this result isn’t surprising. If you’re going to screw around with people’s work, then be prepared for the consequences. I remember trade shows being mostly fun and games but there’s plenty of work to be done as well and disrupting the show just made a lot of people’s jobs harder, as Gizmodo said on their site. They do seem to have a bit of regret and (somewhat) apologized.
Geez, if they were going to do it, why not just walk up to the screens and turn them off?
I do that all the time at work to get people to get the hell out of the store.

Hey, they may be banned from CES in the future (And quite frankly they shouldn’t really have crossed the line with disturbing public presentations…), but at least they know how to humiliate themselves… such as at the neighbouring AVN…. NSFW at all
