Visiting Union Gospel Mission
John Chow, Stephen Fung, Greg Morgan and I were invited down to UGM today to have some lunch and hear about some of the new stuff they’ve been doing lately. We’re always glad to go down to UGM as well as help them raise some funds to help folks in need over the holidays.

Gung hei fat choi to everyone!
Also known as good food and free money day! I’m a bit under the weather so I’m going to keep it rather short. I’m freakin’ freezing and I’m almost NEVER cold…and I’m sitting in my room wearing like two sweaters. Weird.
Anyways, those of you know about Chinese New Year will know that this is the time of year where all the old folks break out the stereotypical Chinese sayings. “Sun Tai Geen Hong” for example means they wish you good health. There are a number of these sayings and I can never seem to remember them all. They almost always consist of four Chinese words that compose a nice Chinese saying. Most of them don’t translate well directly into English and most of them end up being rather funny. For example, a friend of mine came up with “Eat well, poo lots.” and I just cracked up. Others would be like…”Make money, buy stuff!” or “Get chicks! Not ugly.”
Can you think of anything hilarious you can wish someone in just four words?

I can never keep up with all the sayings, so I just stick with the very few that I know. My uncle makes all of us “kids” say something before he’s willing to dish out the red pocket.
On a side note, I noticed that you installed the Top Commentators plug in. No surprise who’s on top, eh?
