John and I have brought up the case of one Casey Serin of iamfacingforeclosure.com several times at Dot Com Pho. John often dubs him the “internet loser of the year”, a title I think he has totally earned.
It’s not really that he has managed to dig himself more than $100,000 of debt by failing at real estate flipping. I mean, you can’t blame a guy for having ambition. However, while normal people would’ve perhaps got themselves a job and tried to pay off their debts, Casey kept hoping for some sort of deux ex machina to come and save him from his troubles.
It was amazing the amount of money this guy managed to lose. He couldn’t monetize his blog (until very recently…more on that later) because he was banned from AdSense and continually rambled about his next “opportunity”. I also love how he spent even more money while being in debt by borrowing from…well, everyone and going on vacation to brainstorm solo while his very attractive wife worked two jobs and cleaned houses as a maid to keep them afloat. I couldn’t believe it, personally.
I think it’s pretty funny how he finally shut down his website and went looking for a real job just as he was starting to make some money. He was earning some more serious money (I think about $2500) in direct ad sales on his website, which he will have to refund now that he has shut it down. Congratulations, Casey, you’ve managed to surpass all of our expectations on how much money you could lose.
This, folks, is how not to make money online…

Casey was a nice guy, but his blog was a soap opera, nothing more…no real information or discussions
on real Estate Investments could be found on his blog….
I remember first reading about him on John’s blog, and then about amonth ago seeing an article about him on MSN. What a crazy ride that kid went on.
So my question is, his contract started about 3 weeks ago right? He only earned $2500. That means as of today, he hadn’t raised $3000 which is what he would have had to earn. Plus I wonder if the following happened:
1) She wouldn’t count the yahoo/adsense traffic. I know you said the adsense he was banned from but I noticed the other day it was up there again.
2) Maybe the yahoo/adsense was cut off because of click-fraud again. (maybe by the haterz)
3) She heard about his response to his brother or maybe read what he wrote about marriage not being about being happy but being holy.
I’m a Christian and agree that marriage should make you holy, but if you don’t feel you can be happy in your marriage, then why are you with them? It’s not all happiness but it should be around 60/40 if not better.
I just hope she gets the murse in the divorce that will come
