I don't think I've ever owned a "manufactured" desktop computer... I've been using Vista since it went retail, and I've haven't had any problems with it (besides when it said it was not genuine, but that's more of a error, than a problem :P ). The thing about Macs is they're overpriced. You could build a Windows desktop that has way more power for the same price. I'm not a fan of the Ctrl-Click for the equivalent of a right click, although using a mouse from another manufacturer would likely fix that. Now, if only you could easily build your own laptops... I definitely agree that building your own PC will give you more power for the same price.
