I said awhile back that I wanted to get some black wheels for my Mazda 3. Today, that sort of came true but not exactly the way I had planned. One of my tires got a puncture while I was backing out of a parking garage and, well, I had to change it and put on the tiny spare. While it was like a 13″ rim, it did give me a bit of an idea what my car will look like with black wheels and I like it a lot. I mean, if it looks okay with a tiny steelie on, how much better is it going to look with some awesome 18″ ones?

By the way, if you don’t know how to change a spare tire, I highly recommend you learn. Fellas, there are only a few skills that every man in the world should know how to do and changing a tire is one of them. I know quite a few dudes that don’t know how. I mean, just imagine the embarrassment when your tire goes and your girl finds out you can’t even change a tire…or if that car full of beer commercial chicks is stranded on the side of the road and needs you to change a tire. Do you want to be stuck thinking to yourself “Damn, I wish I knew how to change a flat…”

Yeah every man’s gonna know that stuff.

As for me, although I never do them anymore, I can do a lot of routine car maintenance… engine oil, brakes, belts on the engine pulley replacement, transmission fluid replacement, spark plugs, replacing rotor components, all the air filters, car batteries, etc.

I believe in being handy regardless of whether I do them all the time or not. It’s just a good thing to be able to figure out your own stuff.

I do all of that too - you never know when you’ll have to pop the hood and get things going!

Well, all drivers - men and women should learn how to change a tire, hehe. I mean, that’s like the most basic thing to learn as a new driver.

I’ve seen quite a few guys on the side of the road waiting for the Department of Transportation (DOT) truck to arrive and help them out.

Not sure if you guys have something similar up in Canada but here in Illinois, the DOT trucks offer assistance to stranded motorists.

As fruityoaty said, whether you are male or female I think you should learn how to do change a tire.

Are you serious are there people and especially men out there in the world who cannot change to the spare tire….
I wonder if it has to do with them not finding it? haha

Anyway that should be tested when taking your driving exam like in some countries in Europe.
