John Chow, Stephen Fung, Greg Morgan and I were invited down to UGM today to have some lunch and hear about some of the new stuff they’ve been doing lately. We’re always glad to go down to UGM as well as help them raise some funds to help folks in need over the holidays.

As you may know, I recently purchased an Xbox 360 and am reveling in the HD gaming goodness of Rainbow Six: Vegas and other games. That and after spending an afternoon with my friends winning a gold medal for our country in NHL ‘07 on my 50″ HDTV downstairs, I realized how playing on my 20″ monitor most of the time is rather…disappointing. With that being said, I think it’s time I purchased a HDTV for my room…maybe a 32″ to hang on my wall.
Just in time too. Yesterday, I purchased a Bell ExpressVu 9200 PVR box and satellite dish that I’ll install as soon as it stops freakin’ raining for a few days. I paid just over $300 for a setup that usually costs over $800 so I really couldn’t pass it up. That and since we already have 4 receivers set up in our house, there was really no other way for me to have a TV in my room.

Anyone have any suggestions? So far, this Samsung seems to be a good choice and I can get a deal on it at LD.

I would go to Costco…lifetime warranty on your purchase.
ReplyThe samsung is a *VERY GOOD* choice.. and it looks incredible. I heard that it didn’t have a very good sound system, but if you can plug in some external speakers, then the screen is perfect, and pretty cheap too!

I really couldn’t resist since the audiovisual manager at London Drugs offered half price on it for me and, let’s face it, half price for just about anything awesome is just a good deal regardless of what it is. No, really…if it’s worth buying, you can offer me just about anything at half price and I’ll take it. I don’t mean like damaged fruit, dented cans or Vietnamese karaoke DVDs.
