Kerrisdale Sushi King
August 26th, 2007 by Ed Lau |Stopped by Sushi King in Kerrisdale yesterday for dinner. I love Japanese food and in Vancouver, you can’t walk down a street without seeing at least a few. Some places are very good and others are just terrible. Sushi King probably isn’t the best place in town but the ingredients are fresh, the prices are good, the staff is friendly and the portions are massive. I’m not kidding, the house roll (which is a California roll with tuna, salmon, lettuce, and egg) is about the size of my forearm if you get a full order.

A friend and I split this combo, which was only $18.80. Honestly, it probably could’ve fed three people but I was particularly hungry so we split it down the middle. It’s half a house roll, a California roll and two pieces each of tuna, salmon, tobiko (salmon roe), shrimp and chopped scallop sushi.

Again, there’s better places in town but value wise, it’s pretty decent. Sushi King is located at 5333 West Boulevard in Kerrisdale. There are several other locations but this is the best one.

I’ve only been to the one on Granville, close to 70th Avenue. I used to go there all the time after UBC. I’ll have to check out the West Blvd location.
Looks good. I loved chopped scallop and those portions look pretty huge. Not Samurai disgustingly huge, but pretty huge nonetheless.
