Kicking Michael Kwan in the Chest

Posted on March 26th, 2007 by Ed Lau

Madness?

THIS…IS…TOP GEAR!

When you piss someone off, it’s only right that the other guy gets to kick you in the chest, making you plummet down a bottomless pit. This is, of course, the response to Michael incorrectly reporting that my favorite TV show, BBC’s Top Gear would not be back. The news drove me nuts but after some digging, I was relieved that I wouldn’t have to commit seppuku and that Top Gear would be back, even if it is in the fall rather than summer. Michael later corrected himself but not before causing me and his other readers undue pain and suffering.

And so, I, on behalf of everyone that reads Beyond the Rhetoric and inspired by the Frank Miller’s 300, kicked Michael in the chest, causing him to plummet down a bottomless pit, this past Saturday after Dot Com Pho. Justice has been served.

Can’t help but notice you basically cropped yourself out of the picture. :p

And yes, I laugh in the face of pain. No mercy. No surrender.

Actually, if that pit is in Sparta and it’s bottomless, wouldn’t I just come out the other end of the Earth… which would be approximately Ecuador?

    I think Michael’s laughing at Ed’s attempt at a kick ;)

Nope, you will fall just past halfway until gravity swings you back, eventually “floating” at the centre. ;)

It’s more of a nudge…I didn’t want to kill him with the kick itself. Of course, he wasn’t laughing once he’s falling down a bottomless pit.

Ha! I guess you’re right! I’d be stuck in limbo at the Earth’s core.
