In the post-Dark Knight part of the year, there aren’t too many upcoming movies to be seriously excited about. I mean, it’s understandable as this is the lull between the summer blockbusters and Oscar buzz time. It’s also usually the busiest time of the year with kids going back to school and people coming back from vacation…and going back to work.
However, I saw this trailer on TV the other day and was captivated. I find Spike Lee to be a bit hit and miss. I’ve loved a few of his recent movies like 25th Hour and Inside Man and I hope Miracle at St. Anna is as epic as it looks in the trailer. I love war movies and this one looks like its got a dash of mystery and intrigue in it for good measure as well.

I am actually looking forward to the new 007 movie coming out on nov. 14. Daniel Craig left off with some great acting in casino royale. I hope he does not disappoint in Quantum Of Solace
For whatever reason, there are two topic areas that immediately capture my interest, even if the movie turns out to be somewhat lacklustre. The first is the occult, Satanic rituals, breaching the gate between Hell and Earth, etc. This led to me to movies like The Exorcist, The Omen, Gothika, The End of Days, etc. The second is Nazi Germany and Neo-Nazis. This led to me to Schindler’s List, American History X, Apt Pupil, etc.
Somehow, the latter category produces better and more profound films. Go figure.
This movie really looks good something to look forward too. I also have to agree with the comment made by Michael Kwan.
