Modern Warfare 2…is Awesome

by Ed Lau on November 19, 2009

So it’s been a little more than a week since I went out in the middle of the night to grab myself a copy of Modern Warfare 2 and as I expected, it is awesome. I find myself saying things like “Oscar Mike” on a regular basis but make no mistake, Modern Warfare 2 is amazing. It isn’t without its flaws but every step of the way is just about the most intense gaming experience I’ve ever had. The plot is fantastic with some old faces returning from the first game. It is as good as any of the best action movies you’ve seen recently.

As awesome as the main single player game is, it is unfortunately short but there’s lots of fun elsewhere with the multiplayer and special ops. Special Ops is a new part of the game that features certain levels of the game with new challenges and even some of the most popular maps of the first game as well, including my favorite part of the original ‘Overwatch’. Overwatch is a two-player map where one player is on the ground, moving through a farming community to the extraction point. The other player is in an AC-130 gunship raining hot death on all the infantry and helicopters looking to kill the guy on the ground.

The only way that level could be any more awesome is if the guns shot unicorns that explode on impact.

I seriously need to find someone to run a few of those Spec Ops maps then – nearly all my friends seem to think that running the single player over and over and over is the best way to spend an evening fragging.

I have Modern Warfare 1 but I can barely run that. These FPS games are getting better and better every year but also getting harder to run on lower-end machines >.< Nice to meet you today!

Are you playing it on the 360 or PS3? Add me on 360, wildfxp :)
