More Zombie Fun! Left 4 Dead and Oblivion!

I don’t know what it is about zombies but they’re just so much fun!

So for the first time in years, I picked up a copy of PC Gamer since I was looking for something new since I quit WoW. Yep! Clean and sober for almost 2 months now. Now prior to being addicted to being an awesome shaman for two years, I was a badass sniper in Counter-strike, head-shotting newbs and owning faces. It seems like just yesterday and it’s easy to forget Counter-strike is almost eight years old! Despite what I say about old games, CS is still a fantastic game and probably still the most balanced and challenging multiplayer FPS…provided you’re playing with and against good players.

It seems like the folks that are behind the excellent CS: Source are almost ready to release their new multiplayer FPS, Left 4 Dead. Yes, I agree that replacing the word “for” with the number 4 seems rather stupid and on the surface, it would appear as though they are marketing to idiot kids who think mispelling is somehow xtreme but from the previews, L4D looks like a bag of badass fun. Basically you and three others will fight to escape from four other players playing the zombies…and a few thousand of their zombie buddies. Yep, not only do you have to fight a set of “special” zombies played by humans but also a bunch of run-of-the-mill zombies.

Left 4 Dead

Oh wait, they’re not the slow, stupid ones that are so much fun to insta-gibb in Dead Rising. This is like 28 Days Later.. Imagine if tomorrow, Reggie Bush turned into a zombie. Yeah, you’re screwed if you don’t have a gun.

Anyways, that’s the gist of it. The official website is rather useless so the best source of information on this game is from, what else…Wikipedia.

Oh right, if you’re a fan of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion and play it on your PC rather than a 360, here’s a fun thing to do if you know a thing or two about modding it. It’s basically creates an unstoppable zombie that will, given a good amount of time, will destroy the entire world…and if you’ve played Oblivion, you’d know it takes weeks, even months to explore the entire game world. You can either create one unstoppable zombie or a legion of them. Have fun!

Reading your description of L4D, I immediately thought of Dead Rising… until you countered that point.
