My First Car Mod Arrived

Posted on August 10th, 2007 by Ed Lau

A dude from Puralator knocked on my door the other day carrying this gigantic, unwieldly chunk of cardboard that looked roughly like a 8-foot boomerang. I was quite excited since I knew this was the front lip for my Mazda 3 I ordered a few weeks ago. After ripping through what resulted in three garbage bags full of cardboard and packing tape, I ended up with a very expensive piece of unpainted fiberglass.

I can’t wait to get this on my car. It’ll look like this (except in black…) when it’s all done. I’m just waiting to get some dings and such fixed before I start on any of this sort of thing.

looking good, so what are you planning next are you aiming to make the entire car custom or just add some bodykit?

Nope, that’s it for bodywork. I don’t want to change the look too much. That picture is of just a front lip, the rest is stock.

My tires have arrived but my Work Emotion CR Kai’s are still at least a month away. Some dude in Japan is still forging them in a volcano.

After that, if the wheel gap is still too much, I’ll lower the car slightly. After that, I’ll replace all the stock lighting with HID and a BMW style “Angel Eye” kit that looks great with rounded headlights.

And that should be it. I’m not planning anything else.

    ah Japan custom made :D
My friend had a nice experience with custom made car parts from Japan, he ordered a hood which was to wide and had to pay this dude some serious money to break it in half take away the excess and mold it together again.

Which cost him a lot of $.

I think John is just jealous. Ok, maybe not. That should dress the car up nicely. Not too “rice” in my opinion. Keep it simple and avoid rice status.

We can also build our own cars and each new piece makes it that much better. Enjoy yours.
