My First Car Mod Purchased

Posted on July 18th, 2007 by Ed Lau

So after plenty of reading and looking around for prices, I’ve purchased the first piece that will be going into my car over the summer and it’s this front lip kit. It wasn’t too expensive but it also comes unpainted and I’ll probably have the pros mount it rather than ghetto-ing it with some double sided tape. I thought this kit was subtle enough to pull of a near OEM look. I didn’t want to get too outlandish like all those ricers in their neon green cars covered with NOS stickers. Not really my thing. I’ll be going for a black-on-black color scheme.

If that car was black, it would look quite a bit like what I’ll end up with. Coincidently, the rims on that car look quite a bit like the ones I chose but I haven’t purchased yet since I’m still looking around for that. Wheels will probably be the most expensive part I purchase this summer. I might also go for a stereo but that’s not all that important to me right now. I’d rather grab the wheels, springs, lights and a couple engine parts instead.

I look forward to seeing you angle your way in and out of parking lots (and over speed bumps). :)

Hmm… Guy with glasses behind a computer screen. Modding vehicle AND hangs out on RevScene. Yup. He’ll fit in nicely

As much as I like the American muscle cars like Leo, I currently drive a Scion so I can appreciate your mods. If I wasn’t beating my car to the ground with my commute (and had the disposable cash) I’d like to make some mods to mine as well.

Looking forward to your mods and if you don’t mind, I’ll live vicariously through you with the car mods.

You can’t get the air damn and not get the rest of the body kit! That’ll look stupid!

What you see above is just a lip. I think it fits in quite well with the OEM aero pieces that are on there already.

I didn’t say that was my car. I just said that is the lip I purchased. That was the picture provided to me…by the guy that made the lip for all our cars. I’ve posted pictures of my car here before…which is black. Duh.
