Nooo…

Posted on December 27th, 2006 by Ed Lau

We get a lot of punk ass kids in the store playing on our Xbox360 and Playstation demos in the store.  It usually causes quite a commotion and most of the time when management is out, I’ll just turn them all off so we have less traffic and less for me to do.

Boxing Day is no exception.  While all their cheapass parents are outside fighting each other for marginally cheap chocolates, all the kids are in the computer department playing video games.  One particular group of kids got my attention though.  My buddy Matt came up to me late in my shift and told me how he found a group of older kids bullying a smaller boy in front of our Project Gotham display.  Apparently three older boys, about…maybe ten or eleven pushed some younger kid off the controller and told him he couldn’t play.  They waved the controller in his face and said “Nooo…”

The smaller kid couldn’t have been more than seven or eight and even then, rather small for his age.  Matt went to the Xbox and pulled the plug, telling the older kids “Nooo…”.  I laughed my face off and asked him to show me who he was talking about.  The bigger group had migrated to the PS3 display and the smaller boy was watching the Xbox.

We thought that just kicking them off the Xbox wasn’t quite enough so I went and talked to the smaller kid and told him to come to the PS3 display.  I pointed out the power button and told him to push it and then say “Nooo…”.  It was hilarious.

Immediately the older kids turned on each other.

“Hey man, I didn’t say anything to you!  It was him!”

Then the little guy surprised me with

“Nope!  It was you too.”

We all had a good laugh and the older kids scurried away with their tails between their legs.  I turned on the displays again and gave the controller to the little dude and said that if the other kids bother him again, come find me or Matt.  All my co-workers thought it was pretty funny.

No one gets to bully anyone in my store but ME!
