Pachelbel Canon in D…Played on a Ruler

by Ed Lau on September 9, 2010

We’ve all seen the amazing electric guitar arrangement of Pachelbel Canon in D on YouTube all those years ago but it seems someone has taken it to the next level.

…and by next level, I mean someone has learned to do it on a metal ruler. No, you read that right, a metal ruler. Someone has actually done everything there is to do in the entire world and decided that all that’s left is to learn a classical song…on a ruler.

Very good music played and composed. I was not knowing that from a simple metal rular you can do this much.

This reminds me of the guy who plays music with a saw. But now this guy is using a six inch ruler. Pretty impressive.

too bad it really means nothing.. a couple of warm words maybe a couple of taps on the shoulder but at the end of the day he is at the same position as before he mastered the ruler playing.

I think the music comes from whatever we want. We can enjoy it when we want to and from whatever we can. Its always soothing.

That is pretty slick and he also uses it slightly like an old school whammy bar.

The way he breaks it down with his ruler is something else. It seems to have something to do with how he moves the ruler from side to side and slides more or less of it over the edge. Truly a master of the ruler and how to fill one’s days with unique activities.
