Portal 2 Looks Awesome

by Ed Lau on July 14, 2010

Portal is pretty much my definition of the perfect game. Not only was it just a load of fun playing with possibly the best game mechanics ever put into a video game but it had so much personality which is weird since the world, apart from the character you play, is populated entirely by robots and such. Companion Cubes are lovingly emblazoned with hearts, the machine gun turrets would playfully say “I see you!” right before they riddle you with bullet holes and GLaDOS…well, that voice is as frightening as it is strangely sexy.

And Portal had cake!

Now we’re on the verge of getting the sequel and it looks like we’ll have a friend to guide us through the Portal 2 world. Unfortunately, I hear the awesome English voice is a placeholder until they get to work on that part of the game.

I don’t know about you but seeing our old friend reassembling herself after the epic battle just looks incredible. Plus, it looks like we’ll have a lot more toys to play with in the second installment. 2011 can’t get here soon enough.

Ok. I’ll be the first to say it: The cake was a lie, just like Thursdays.

Portal was an amazing game and I can’t wait for Portal 2 to come out. Portal had just enough puzzles to make it challenging and the story was great. I hope Portal 2 is just as good. From the video it looks amazing.

I was thoroughly impressed by Portal and the sequel looks to be even better. You’re right, it’s a shame if they don’t use the English accent voiceover in the final release as he sounds great and reminds me of a young Michael Caine, one of my favorite actors.

Add another mortal blow to my productivity time. Between WoW, Starcraft II and now Portal II I am not going to get much work done, nor get in much sleep! Life is good in the gaming universe right now!

I actually played the original Portal game, wasn’t too big of a fan of it, but all of my friends who played it loved it. I guess well see how Portal 2 goes, from the looks of it, it looks very thrilling, and could have alot of potential! I hope they improve the graphics from the previous portal, if so that would make it even all the more worth it!

Till then,

Jean
