Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

Rainbow Six Vegas

One of the best games I’ve played for Xbox 360 is definitely Rainbow Six: Vegas. Although I missed the highly tactical experience of the older R6 games (back when they were made by Red Storm and not Ubisoft), the newer games are great in their own way. I’ve played every map so many times, I could probably tell you exactly where all the tangos are on nearly ever map so I can’t wait for them to release the sequel later on this year.

It looks like they’re taking some cues from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare as it appears that there will be a certain RPG/experience points system to the game, earning rewards and equipment as you go (in both single and multiplayer) as well as being able to personalize your character in the single player game.

A recent IGN interview revealed that the storyline will begin before that of the first game but also conclude the story altogether. I’m not going to give away the ending of the first game but there is a cliffhanger for you at the end. Vegas wasn’t a particularly long game but there was plenty of replay value in the multiplayer and downloadable maps so let’s hope the same is true for the sequel. Oh, and Ubisoft, you guys owe me $15 for making the maps free…after I already paid for them, you bastards.

Check out the trailer for Vegas 2 here.

  2. [...] The greatest new feature is probably Horde mode, which pits you and up to 4 friends against wave after wave of Locust scum just waiting to reduce you to a lead-ridden, burned and gibbed corpse. It starts out easy but eventually even when you’re bunkered in with a good supply of ammunition, it still won’t save you against a huge load of Maulers, Grinders and Boomers descending on your position. It requires more teamwork than, ugh, Halo 3 but probably not quite as much as Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. [...]
