Rainy Gastown

Posted on December 20th, 2006 by Ed Lau

So the reason I wanted people to help me choose shoes is because I finally went to visit the newly opened Goodfoot store in Gastown on Tuesday. They had a great selection of shoes and clothing but the clean, minimalist boutique design of the store impressed me most. The place looks great. I think I’m going to pick up the version one Taxi’s (the green ones) tomorrow. The bottom pair is from Livestock, another shoe store in Gastown a couple blocks away.

It was a terrible day on Tuesday, all wet everywhere but there’s just something about Gastown on a rainy day that’s says so much about Vancouver. It’s really hard to believe sometimes that just a block away from some of the swankiest office buildings and boutiques like Goodfoot, Livestock, Complex, Richard Kidd and A-life are the poorest slums in Vancouver. In fact, if you’re at Livestock, it’s probably not a good idea to wander too far away with your $500 shoes…
