Seriously, Can’t Wait For Fallout 3

by Ed Lau on October 15, 2008

It’s almost here! It’s almost here! It’s almost here!

Less than two weeks away from the release of Fallout 3, the successor to possibly my favorite game franchise of all time (System Shock/Bioshock would be a close second…probably), I’m giddy with excitement and have been looking at the gameplay vids nearly everyday. Again, I’m a tad disappointed that it’s no longer a hybrid real-time/turn-based game but this mode worked so well with Oblivion that it shouldn’t pose any problems. Actually, it should be even more immersive than its predecessors.

The atmosphere of the Fallout world is second to none, really, with the fantastic 1950′s style PSAs everywhere and the focus on the environment looking like a serious post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland with serious attention to detail.

I thought about returning to World of Warcraft lately since there hasn’t been a serious game for me to sink my teeth into for awhile apart from Rock Band 2 but with Fallout 3, Gears of War 2 and not to mention Guitar Hero: World Tour, I might just struggle to find time to play them all.

Fallout 2 was quite popular with one of my friends, and he is looking very gladly to the future when when he can play this game. It looks like they are living up to the hype.
