Left 4 Dead
I really need to find more time in the day. This is one of those “perfect storm” times of the year when tons of quality games come out and there’s simply not enough time to play them all. I saw a video for Left 4 Dead the other day and was convinced that [...]

Who thought it would be a great idea to make a TV show from one of the most retarded and annoying catchphrases of our generation?

Let me break it down for you. William Shattner asks common Americans some of the easiest questions in a ridiculously easy game show and the first guy ever won $600,000 even if he was completely retarded. Oh, and there are a bunch of Maxim-quality hot strippers…or dancers that dance at random times. Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve never been one to…not watch something with this many beautiful women but seriously, I can’t believe it has come to this. We’ve gone from game shows that challenge the minds of intellectuals all over the world (such as Jeopardy…or heck, even Who Wants to be a Millionaire?) to something where you have to chose hot chicks at random and answer the world’s easiest questions like who shouted “WoooO!” during the 2004 Presidential campaign.
The dumbest part is…if the easiest questions in the world are still too hard for you..you can go to the next question or the question after that. Seriously, I think they screen the contestants and only keep the stupid ones. It gets even worse when Shattner and the contestants randomly dance. Why ruin the one good part about this show and that is watching the ladies dance? Why do we have to watch the lame people dance?

Other than Jeopardy, it would be nice to have a game show that didn’t cater to the lowest common denominator. It would be great to see smart people rewarded rather than the stupid and lucky.
Oh well, whatever it takes to get ratings, huh?

If you want to see stupid and lucky, it doesn’t get much more random than Deal or No Deal. I don’t mind Howie Mandel (I loved Bobby’s World growing up), but the premise of that game show is so — in your words — retarded. Absolutely no skill, knowledge, etc. involved. The questions posed on 1 vs 100 are pretty stupid too.
On a side note, I still watch Jeopardy on a reasonably regular basis, if only to see if I know some of the responses. I’ll never forget the international Jeopardy they have several years back and the clue was “This capital of Canada…” something or other, and a (I think) Swedish competitor responded, “What is Ontario?”
ReplyI saw this episode. That guy is such a fag, as is this show.
