Left 4 Dead
I really need to find more time in the day. This is one of those “perfect storm” times of the year when tons of quality games come out and there’s simply not enough time to play them all. I saw a video for Left 4 Dead the other day and was convinced that [...]

I saw this on Stephen’s blog the other day. The strangest thing about this video is that the door sliding bit isn’t the weirdest thing here. What the hell is with everyone being dressed as lobsters and bugs and stuff!? The punishment is even worse…having to smell the breath of people who have just eaten seriously smelly food.
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before but when I went to Japan and the Fuji television station, they had all sorts of weird Japanese games set up. I couldn’t resist playing. The one I remember best was where a medal is suspended from the ceiling and you have to walk to the middle of the floor, jump up and grab it. Of course, you just happen to be tied to the wall with a bungee cord.
After watching a bunch of weaklings get thrown to the ground in failure, I figured I could do it. I mean, the mistake most of them were making was that they were taking a running start and trying to jump at it from too far away. Or maybe they just couldn’t make it to the middle of the floor given the resistance of the bungee. Either way, I held onto the cord and wrapped it around my arm a bit before getting to the middle of the floor and jumping. I easily got the medal but the force of the bungee ripped me back so hard that I pulled the medal down…and the whole game set with it. This was a few years ago…I’ll try to find a picture.
…and that’s how I destroyed a Japanese game show set. True story.
