Snake Eyes Looks Freakin’ Awesome

If you’re around my age, I’m sure you watched G.I. Joe at some point and is excited to see that the franchise will get a live action movie soon. I thought another adaptation project, Transformers, didn’t go too well but from the first promo photo from G.I. Joe, this looks pretty freakin’ awesome. Snake Eyes, who is just about the coolest character from the series, looks as badass as ever.

I know its a movie and all that, but it kinda ruins the purpose of stealth if you’re gonna put bright, red markings on your ninja suit and wield a shiny-as-hell katana.

The red markings and shiny katana just show how stealth Snake Eyes really is as he can overcome these issues.

Last year I wrote a post over at my Dad Balance site about G.I. Joe and the fact that Snake Eyes was my favorite. My kids love watching the cartoons online and I get hooked in as well if I am sitting there.

But you don’t understand, that’s his clan mark, which is supposed to be a tattoo on his arm. It’s actually Storm Shadow’s ninja clan (Arashikage) that Snake Eyes was inducted into as a brother. They served together in the Vietnam war, where Storm Shadow (called Billy at the time) risked his life to save a wounded Snake Eyes.

Sorry, Storm Shadow’s name is Tommy, not Billy. Billy was one of his students, who also happened to be Cobra Commanders son.

And lo, yet another… thing… from childhood that I didn’t get the first time. I ended up with Mask and Thundercats. The horror……

I’m by no means trying to disagree with the fact that Snake Eyes is in fact AMAZING, I’m seeing a bit much of the Cyclops costume from X-Men in these promo pics.

Will Sgt. Slaughter be playing Sgt. Slaughter?

I think he’s now called Senile Slaughter and is now living in the Joe’s retirement home in Key West, Florida with Duke and Scarlett.

It would awesome and depressing at the same time if Sgt. Slaughter actually played Sgt. Slaughter.
