Visiting Union Gospel Mission
John Chow, Stephen Fung, Greg Morgan and I were invited down to UGM today to have some lunch and hear about some of the new stuff they’ve been doing lately. We’re always glad to go down to UGM as well as help them raise some funds to help folks in need over the holidays.

You might be surprised that the internet is not simply for porn, video games, porn, MP3s and let’s not forget pr0n. In fact, there are actual, useful parts to the internet even if at least 97% of it is of or pertaining to pornography. True story.
One of the more useful online applications is online mapping, which puts easy to use directions at your fingertips. However, as with everything technology based, sometimes it doesn’t work or worse, gives you something absolutely ridiculous. I’m sure you’ve all gotten that one set of directions from Google Maps or Mapquest and the such that makes you drive all the way to the other side of the city to get somewhere two block away. Personally, I always wonder if someone at Google is simply screwing with us for our lack of directional sense.
That being said, it isn’t surprising that even Google Maps has some Easter Eggs hidden just in case someone decides to type in something ridiculous. For example, try getting directions from your city (if you live in North America) to, say, London, England. If you don’t happen to live in North America, try going from your city to New York.
Read the instructions. No, it’s real. Try it yourself.

The only way this could’ve been more useful is if it said “Go East…left a bit…you are now in London, England.”
