Left 4 Dead
I really need to find more time in the day. This is one of those “perfect storm” times of the year when tons of quality games come out and there’s simply not enough time to play them all. I saw a video for Left 4 Dead the other day and was convinced that [...]

I’m well aware that it is, in fact, April 1st and everyone is making April Fool’s joke posts but I’m going to spare you all from that today. No, not because I don’t want to but I think it’s a bit cliche and predictable to do so on April 1st. I’d rather spring one on you guys when you least expect it. I think it would be more fun for me if I just did an April Fool’s joke at a much more random time than today. So beware…one of these days, when your guard is down…that’s when I’m going to pounce.
And now back to our regularly scheduled Speed Link Sunday!
1. Kelly Cho takes all the basics to starting up a blog and puts it in one post. Seriously, starting a blog isn’t a complicated affair. I mean, as much of an absolute noob I am at most things software based, I got my blog up and running rather quickly. Of course, the Root of All Evil did give me a hand but still…
2. My Hyundai-driving friend Stephen Fung is holding a contest for everyone who adds him to their Technorati favorites. He’s giving away a Microsoft mouse and when he reaches 100 people, he’ll give $100 charity, probably the BC Children’s Hospital or the Vancouver Food Bank. BTW Stephen…real Dot Com Moguls don’t drive Hyundais!
3. King Nomar breaks down which things are the most important in getting your site high up on search engines. I am now #1 when you search for “Ed Lau” but I do also rank quite high for other searches including “Timbaland Shock Value Review“, which has been quite popular with Timbaland’s new album dropping soon. Hilariously, I was #1 for awhile for the search phrase “pretty girls farting on each other”.
4. My movie star buddy Leo Chiang, who you might recognize from his recurring role on Battlestar Galatica, goes to work on his new flick, Tin Man which he describes as “The Wizard of Oz on crack”. Leo plays one of the bad guy soldiers, which is quite fitting. I know Leo from his other job as a security guy at London Drugs and he is not a guy you want to kick in the chest. The movie stars a couple of my favorite actors: Neal McDonough, who I will always remember as Buck from Band of Brothers and my favorite indie movie chick, Zooey Deschanel, who most will remember as Jovie from the best Christmas movie ever, Elf.
5. Comment whore Michael Kwan looks at the state of blogging and how it has evolved from a way for emo kids to express their depression and anger into a full fledged business tool for just about every type of industry. He also reviews some yummy Indian food in Vancouver’s downtown. God, now I want some samosas…

Thanks for the link love bud!
Zooey is really tiny! There’s a scene where Neal had to wear a Long Coat (someone messed up and he didn’t have one) and I was the only guy his size, so I had to relinquish my wardrobe to him for a few hours.
ReplyLOL I assume the Huyndai is his new rental car?
ReplyThanks for the link back Ed Lau
ReplyStupid Hyundai piece of crap
ReplyWoo, I made the list!
ReplyHaha. Please tell me that if the Subie is a write-off that you don’t go out and buy an Accent.
