Speed Link Sunday! – May 13th

by Ed Lau on May 13, 2007

So it’s the end of my first week of attempting to change my lifestyle. I’ve taken up eating lean meats with tons of veggies and I’ve been running and doing some lifting on alternate days. Today wasn’t particularly successful as I rolled my ankle on the sidewalk. Not particularly fun.

Anyways, here’s some posts of interest this week.

1. Ms. Danielle encourages us all to adopt a pet from a shelter. I’d love to get a rabbit but my room is full of cables that they’d chew. I do plan to get a dog sometime in the future and maybe once I put cable shields on everything, I can get a rabbit like Binky, who’s being lazy on a Saturday afternoon.

2. Saman Sadeghi of Samanathon has been posting some fantastic animation videos he’s found on the net. This one, called Esc by Justin Henton is fantastically detailed. If you want some ass-kicking action, check out the Animator vs. Animation videos. I saw them awhile back but they’re still fun to watch.

3. krillz learned a harsh lesson in blogging. By not updating for awhile, he lost quite a bit of readership. Remember, folks…not updating is the cardinal sin of blogging. Having the same stuff on your site for weeks can kill your blog quick. Luckily for krillz, he does have quite a bit of PHP programming info on his blog…something I’m completely hopeless at so if you’re looking for that sort of thing, head on over.

4. Tyler Ingram has a video of Miss Pole Dance Canada 2007 and hey, who doesn’t love pole dancing? While pole is usually an afterthought for most “dancers”, the really good girls are actually really skilled and it takes a heck of a lot of strength and dexterity to perform some of these moves. That and it’s hawt. If that sort of thing’s not for you, he also discusses several different ways of monetizing blogs.

5. [Geeks Are Sexy] has unearthed a comic based on the classic computer game Doom that’s so horribly, horribly bad that it’s…damn, I can’t even describe how stupid it is. If you’ve ever played the game or…even if you haven’t…read it and prepare for the stampede of idiocy that is the Doom comic. “Why can’t we safely dispose of radioactive waste and protect the enviroment?!” This is worse than the Doom movie. Yes, it’s that bad.

WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO ONE OF MY FAVORITE GAMES, YOU BASTARDS!?

Rabbits make great pets. They’re a lot more intelligent and affectionate than most people give them credit for.
