Speed Link Sunday! - October 7th

Posted on October 7th, 2007 by Ed Lau

Blog activity hasn’t exactly picked up like I expected it would after summer ended. Some blogs are being updated less frequently and others not at all. I guess some folks are just getting “blogger burn-out” but there are still plenty going strong. However, I will now probably just do Speed Link Sunday once every two weeks or…whenever there’s stuff going on in the blogosphere.

Don’t worry, I’m committed to maintaining my site. Blogging has been so beneficial to me I don’t think I’d stop for any reason short of catastrophe. Heck, I’m still enthusiastic enough to want to start an entirely new blog, albeit with some friends of mine. Check out our new hockey blog at Slap Shot Squad.

  1. It seems everyone teaching English in Korea spends a lot of time taking pictures of food. Eva of Stranger in Suwon, much like my friend Gdog, has a lot of posts with local Korean delicacies. I love travel blogs and I’ve always been fascinated with South Korea since I spent summer there a couple years ago. Stranger in Suwon is one of the better Korean travel blogs with lots of vibrant, colorful pictures.
  2. For drunken pictures of Leo Chiang hugging John Chow at the World Cyber Games, check out Leo’s latest entry. There’s also a before and after shot of Stephen Fung eating a mountain of chicken wings. Geez, Stephen…first you eat all the homeless people’s food and now all the wings in Seattle.
  3. Gary Lee finally ended his iPhone Giveaway contest. Like the iPod giveaways I did a little while ago, Gary made a video, with Ms. Danielle’s help. I’m not exactly sure how long it’s been since Gary first announced the contest. It’s been ages…at least a few fort nights…probably around the same time people still used sundials and said things like “forsooth”. You can also check out Gary and Danielle’s new collaboration at Creative Traffic Builders.
  4. Remember the ol’ days when flash drives were just tested for speed? Well, Shawn Knight is a crazy dude…testing USB flash drives by freezing and boiling them. No, not at the same time…
  5. Peter from I Will Change Your Life came to Dot Com Pho yesterday so I thought I’d give him a shout out here. One particular post that interested me was this one about sleeping tips or How I Won The Battle Of The Bed. Personally, I’m losing the battle plenty. I sleep late, wake up late…heck, I’d stay in bed all the time if I could. This is somewhere I probably need some tips.

Hey, I wasn’t hugging John. I was merely resting my head on his shoulder.

How’s the hockey blog coming along? Haven’t heard anything bout it (ok i haven’t looked too hard either). Any chance you guys would want a 3rd writer from the central division? I’m more than a little pissed the Detroit blew a 3-1 lead on Chicago Saturday. But in all honesty, i’m not a huge Hasek fan, even though he is on my fantasy team. So i gotta say congrats on #1 draft pick Kane getting his first NHL goal on the guy. And hey, i’ll throw the comparison out there, Gretzky’s first goal was against the Wings as well! Yeah, so how ya been? I’ve got tickets to the Wings game Friday, so even though my blogs have been pretty lack luster recently i’ll probably be yapping about that sooner than later.

    Take it easy!
