Left 4 Dead
I really need to find more time in the day. This is one of those “perfect storm” times of the year when tons of quality games come out and there’s simply not enough time to play them all. I saw a video for Left 4 Dead the other day and was convinced that [...]

So John Chow told me that my host, Monsterhosting.ca is apparently getting some legal pressure from Monsterhosting.com, which is apparently owned by giant Network Solutions. They are now known as BlueFur, after the funny looking blue, furry dude in their logo. It wouldn’t be my first choice for a name but hey, I know exactly how hard it is to find a domain name that isn’t taken and also doesn’t suck. We’re only probably a few months away from clownpenis.fart becoming the only domain left.
While BlueFur isn’t totally terrible, their tagline “Experience the legend.” is cheese personified. I feel like, for some reason, Highway to the Danger Zone should be playing in the background or a some Chevy truck should be in this commercial.

However, the hosting experience from BlueFur has been top gun, I mean notch. The uptime has been perfect and support is fantastic. The servers handled a Digg-storm without even a hick-up. I’m a complete web design noob and their support staff has helped me every step of the way, often within hours, even minutes of me asking a question. My shared hosting for this blog only costs $4.95 and I gotta tell you, their service and performance has exceeded my expectations. Heck, if someone paid me $4.95 a month, there’s no way I’d pay them THIS much attention.
I hear Gary Jones, the BlueFur boss, is going to be joining me and John at pho this weekend so I’ll leave the rest of the Bluefur story until then.

ReplyHey Ed,
We are trying these guys out as our new host on your recommendation, they should give you a free month of hosting
Reply[...] So as I said on Thursday, Gary from BlueFur (the company that hosts my site) would be joining us today at our weekly pho. At twelve attendees, I believe this is probably one of our largest parties for pho ever. A bunch of them keep calling it fur but the proper pronunciation, I’m told, is closer to saying “fuh”…but we all call it “foe” anyways. [...]
