John Chow, Stephen Fung, Greg Morgan and I were invited down to UGM today to have some lunch and hear about some of the new stuff they’ve been doing lately. We’re always glad to go down to UGM as well as help them raise some funds to help folks in need over the holidays.

A week later, people are still gushing about how pretty the iPhone is. While it does look great, it’s the iPhone’s features that make me want to buy one. Although it will not be available in Canada, trust me when I say that won’t stop me from owning one when the summer release date rolls around.
The iPhone is not the prettiest girl in school. Well, let me rephrase that. The iPhone is probably the best looking phone that is entirely rooted in reality. A few months ago, Nokia showed us some concept shots of a phone they call the Aeon. While it is just a concept thus far, I will venture to say that if they make this a reality, it will be one of the best looking designs in mobile phones ever. Heck, probably one of the best designs of ANYTHING ever.

Rather than a traditional keypad, the Aeon will be one giant piece of touch screen rather than a traditional keypad. Also, apparently the material it would be made of will not attract fingerprints. One of my worries about the iPhone was not only fingerprints but ear prints! I can clearly see the outline of my ear sometimes on my Samsung. Nokia…please make this…and please don’t wimp out and put in a traditional keypad.

This concept phone (branded Sony Ericsson, but probably not BY Sony Ericsson) is pretty cool too.
