I rank Band of Brothers as not only one of the greatest shows on television but possibly just one of the best, most entertaining things I’ve watched in general so I was extremely excited to hear that the people responsible including Steven Spielburg and Tom Hanks were involved in creating another WWII drama miniseries. This time, as the title suggest, the action is in the Pacific theater revolving around the conflict with the Japanese.

Actually, I’ve been waiting for this ever since I first watched Band of Brothers. They did the European Theater, and beautifully; now they do the Pacific. It’s only fair. I’m really looking forward to seeing this.
Band of Brothers is the single greatest work of Film in the history of film. I really don’t care if anyone wants to bash that opinion. Perfectly woven war violence, stunning special effects, gripping emotional drama and a great blend of comedy for such a work. If The Pacific is half as good as Band of Brothers, which i don’t think it will be bc it only centers on 3 characters and not a platoon or so i hear, it will probably be the second best thing HBO has ever distributed, and well worth the 200 million dollar budget.
I don’t know if I’m for anything Spielberg…but if they’re using people that were behind Band of Brothers then I’m on board. If this is half as good as Band of Brother it’ll be another blu-ray buy of mine. I don’t know if anything can compare to the story of E Company/101st Airborn and the european theatre, but I’ll definitely give it a look.
Steven Spielberg is the best. There is nobody like him. He always impart a great reality to his works. When I see Saving Private Ryan I feel that I am myself at war with the soldiers. The scene of the D-Day gives chills.
