You know what’s worse than not having any internet access? Assuming your hotel has internet access and then discovering that it is utter #*%&. I can unplug for awhile…I’ve got no problem with leaving my electronic gadgets behind. However, if I have a connection, I expect it to be good.
Good hotels often advertise that they have free wireless which is all fine and dandy but putting a single router on the bottom floor when you have multiple floors of rooms does not constitute wireless internet access. It seems to always be this way whenever a hotel says they have internet access in their rooms. Even if the signal strength is acceptable, chances are the network isn’t set up properly and no one on the staff has the least bit of an idea of what to do.
Therefore, I’ve had scattered net access for the last couple days. It seems like here in Vancouver, we’re leaps and bounds ahead of the west part of America when it comes to free wireless access. Any Starbucks in Vancouver has wireless along with just about every other coffee shop in the area. Heck, you can’t throw a laptop without hitting a place that has wireless access. Here? Everything seems to be some sort of AT&T hotspot that requires you to pay by the hour. And all the places that say they have free access…well, that never works properly.
At the same time, why can’t hotels just have wired access? I mean, nothing other than the possible exception of the remote control is better wireless than wired. Yes, think about it…
So America…fix your internet. Or heck, just tell me next time that you guys don’t have a basic understanding of wireless so I can leave my laptop at home.

iPhone tethering? Or would that cost too much on roaming and stuff.
hahahah, calm down my friend . sometime this thing will happen to everyone
Hehe, that sucks for sure!
I surely hope America won’t turn into a giant wireless hub though
Think about all the signals being sent above your heads..
