Yeah Yeah Yeahs cover Sonic Youth’s Diamond Sea

In case you haven’t noticed, I added a little button up top tagged Now Playing! so give a little playlist of what I’m watching and listening to at that particular time.

One of the songs there now is a live session by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs that I found about a month ago and still haven’t stopped listening to. Diamond Sea was originally done by Sonic Youth back in 1995, a track that was almost 20 minutes long. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs cover is barely 4 and a half minutes but, good lord, I can’t get enough of Karen O’s voice. That…coo during the chorus is sexy beyond belief. The song itself is minimalistic with just a guitar following O’s voice for most of the song but even if you had an orchestra backing the song, Karen O’s voice would still steal the show.

Buy it for a buck on iTunes…you won’t be disappointed.
